Angelica Wilson, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

About Angelica:
Hello, I’m Angelica Wilson, and I am excited to join my colleagues at Shock Therapy Group, LLC. I hold a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Herzing University, specializing in psychiatric and mental health nursing across the lifespan. My passion for mental health began at a young age as I witnessed relatives and individuals in my diverse community struggle to access the mental health services they desperately needed. For the past 14 years, I have dedicated my career to healthcare, consistently serving the needs of others. During this time, I also earned a Bachelor's degree with a minor in Holistic Health. Throughout my years in the field, I have encountered many patients facing various mental health challenges, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, and anxiety—issues that are often overlooked. While helping patients as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is one of my passions, I also continue to pursue other interests, such as being my child’s biggest supporter and traveling the world.

What can you expect to take away from a session with me?

After a session with me, my clients can expect to feel empowered, experience an improved quality of life, and a sense of hope. My goal is to continue reducing mental health stigma by providing open and nonjudgmental care for all clients. Clients can expect to gain valuable knowledge and tools necessary for achieving better mental health, all while feeling seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will actively participate in making positive changes in their lives.

What are my biggest strengths?

Some of my biggest strengths include appreciating the uniqueness and diversity in everyone, being an advocate for what is right, being an active listener, showing compassion, being non-judgmental, and being supportive. Additionally, I strive to help my clients understand that everyone faces struggles in life; some just hide their struggles better than others.

What treatment methods and tools do I utilize?

I value the uniqueness of each individual, which shapes my approach to providing care. By using a holistic mind-body-spirit framework and incorporating cultural competence alongside evidence-based practices, I aim to see the whole person. This perspective helps my clients achieve and maintain mental health through personalized treatment plans. I utilize a combination of therapy and medication, or either option separately, to create treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
